Razer Barracuda HP-1 Headphones
We would like to thank Razor for a chance to do this review.
this is a Razor's first foray into audio products, and is a rather good one. When we first heard of this. We were rather surprised. This was a rather risky move for Razor is a company. thus far with the unit we find it to be a rather capable headset. Packaging: ![]() The Unit: ![]()
![]() Performance:in our testing under Linux and Windows. We found that the unit performed rather well. At one point in a game. The unit actually rattled. This was quite a surprise to us as we were not expecting it. This also added to the overall feel of the game. It was at this point, because we didn't expect it. We were kind of shocked. Further testing was not able to reproduce it. Compared to our other headsets we have tested. The Steelsound 5H. and the new Steelsound 5Hv2; the overall quality of the highs was on par with the other headsets. While the issue with our (weak bass/needing to enable bass boost(Xplosion 7.1))soundcard. May have been just a rare issue other soundcards may also have the same issue. although we wish it had a mic like the Steelsound 5h that was retractable and easy to get out the way. Pros:in our test the unit produced very well. Music, gaming.Although the bass on certain sound cards needs to be adjusted. We found on Xplosion 7.1 that we had to go to the control panel and enable bass boost. Without this, the base seemed weak. Under our realtek onboard all was well. Cons:the control pod is rather bulky, and in a non-convenient area. This tends to make the headset feel a little more bulkier then. It is. The microphone seems to wiggle loose if moved too much. Its placement is a bit hard to get used to. I've had it come out more than once, while adjusting it. The connection style with the use of a what could be a crt connector is odd and bulky, while it is really secure and in the back it takes so getting use to. |
