Goal of Review
This review is for a wireless mouse I use to control my Windows Media Center PC. I would like to show that you can use this mouse for normal every day use or use it as a replacement for an actual remote for pc.

-=Introduction=-
Instead of buying a remote and only having it on that computer and no other use for it I opted for the Logitech Wireless Media Play Mouse. This review will subject this item to intense and barbaric conditions to prove it is a sturdy well built mouse worth of hardcore users.
-=Description=-
The mouse comes with everything you need right out of the box. Batteries, software, and a nice fold out install sheet. Having a Key that allows you to open your favorite media player or other application such as Winamp or Windows Media Player Classic is so nice. Also included are a Volume up/down set of keys, Fast Forward/ Rewind. The Keys also double as Next track or previous track or file. Universal page forward/back buttons work for numerous applications. The Wheel tilts from side to side for scrolling and click to zoom feature. A mini receiver allows you to keep your desk clear of a bulky docking station. A distinct blue backlight is a bonus for when you are in the dark and hit the buttons randomly. Although it does use batteries, the included software includes a batter life meter that most other wireless products lack. Furthermore, an invisible light optical sensor extends the battery life along with better tracking.
-=The Install=-
The package comes with a mini stand for the wireless receiver and a long 10 foot cord. Allowing you to hide it out of the way and keeping your Desktop/Media Center clean of clutter. Hooking it into an available usb port triggers the usual windows jibber gabber. My system had no problems installing windows software to control it. Using the included cd you have the choice to install various software such as: Music Match, Real, and the Logitech software to utilize extra features. Dont forget in the box you also get 2 AA batteries that go into your mouse. Notice the little On/Off switch on the bottom of your mouse. The manual says if there is a problem with the mouse not working hit the reset button on the mouse and the receiver. I personally have never had any problems and I move it between 2 computers.
-=The Software=-
Logitech does a great job at making its software straight forward and not full of do this then do this like you are an idiot. The Media Life is a great program to use for pictures, movies, and other items. I personally love my WinAmp so I dont use it much. Sorry L. Under Mouse and Keyboard going to setting brings up your choices on configuring your mouse to your needs. Here is where you will change your keys to what program and options you want to use. Under Mouse movement you have the option of side to side scrolling speed, pointer speed, pointer acceleration, smart move, and pointer trail. Then there is the best feature yetThe Batter Meter.. Simple and to the Point. Mine right now currently says Your Mouses battery is good.
-=The Test of Death=-
Tv remotes go bad after so many times dropping them or throwing them. I dropped the mouse from 6 feet in the air to a solid hard wood floor and the mouse functions flawless. Water and soda was next. I let a soda spill stand for a few hours then ran the mouse right over it. Sticky yes broken? Far from it. Talk about a relentless little mouse.
-= Is It Worth It=-
I say for $50 you get a mouse that doubles as a remote and also a standard mouse. Warranty for me is probably gone from my Test of Death but im not worried to much. I still have a Logitech web cam from 98 and still works great.
-=Conclusion=-
Im going to do something I have never done. The Score is out of 10 and will be scored only once.
Score 9/10
-=Pros=-
Fits your hand not to bulky Great range well over the 10 foot mark So far battery life is wonderful 2 months and still going Blue Light just makes me warm and fuzzy all over Well balanced even with 2 batteries in it
-=Cons=-
Problem areas is your right and left click feels like they could wear out kind of fast if you arent careful
-=Random Notes=-
Well I didnt really have to write a review on this item but I was just so impressed with the way this mouse has just grown on me and my friends. Logitech you guys are doing a great job keeping up with what people want and need for their computers. Keep up the good work J
-=Pictures=-
I have a new Camera ordered to make Picture taking better quality and fewer glares.
-=The End=-
