Logitech DiNovo Edge Keyboard PT2

Document Actions

Testing:

While testing the DiNovo Edge It was nothing short of a pleasure .
This product shows us why Logitech products are sought after.
This unit was made to be a work of art as well as your work horse.
The key action is something to feel  it is as close to perfection as you can get.

Why in use we had to reset the unit twice maybe  and that was due to;
Due booting at first plus My setup is rather cramped
I'm the guy that likes the tower by his screen after this it just worked.
All controls  worked as expected and with out a hitch.

As we saw with the MX3100 Desktop reviewed here .
I could be far away from the unit and have it work.
We tested this by being upstairs and in another room with a spotter(nuts ;hell yes)

While this may not be too much of a real test as there wasn't any tape measure out for it,
it gives you a rather good sense of it's distance of operation.

Which is freaking further then you would be from your media center setup.
Unless you have a server in the basement doing it and then it would still work.

We ran it through our general testing :

We did the html editing,Gaming, used the volume control for our music etc.

Tried to out last the batteries by leaving it on for a night or 3 .

It past all this and said give us more.
We really couldn't have been any happier.
We did everything but the soda test ala Mark Fitch in his review here.

Pros:

This keyboards look and feel are just top notch.
it just works I reset it once in awhile to make sure it works and it does.
the key feel is something as well it is spot on.
We thought the MX3100 was a good keyboard this unit dances on it's grave.

Works in Linux.

Thus far it makes a great gaming keyboard to us as well.

Cons:

We would have liked to see more information on time to charge;
why because we see the battery led about a quarter of the way all the time.
while everything works fine and all day I've yet to see it go higher then this.

Back lightening would be great for all keys in the dark.
 while we under stand this would drain the battery more
it would aid those users using this with a media center pc in the dark.

Even while off the touch pad and volume still work which can drain the battery as well.
With our test system we can not get into the bios with out switching to a standard keyboard.

The Software  installer was rather long and failed on us more then once.
This may have just been a bad copy(yes;I used the one on the cd).

Ending Statement:

So after all this what can we say you get for the price;
Well I'd say one damn fine keyboard .
While some users would say I can get another for a lower price ,
I say but will it match the quality of this one probably not.
At this price this is your keyboard for life; unless your a  modder/tech guy/gal.
