Hansen, Eric of ParkerVision

Document Actions

Well could you tell us more about your 3g mobile goals and why you changed direction to 3g mobile products?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision announced earlier this year that it had developed a transmit chain replacement technology. This technology is called Direct2RFPower or d2p. It is based on our new way of doing RF called Energy Signal Processing. The company chose the 3G cellular market as its target market for this new technology because it answers some very important challenges for the 3G marketplace. However, the potential of this technology can be realized in many different industries.

Also will you still support the current models that are being sold(thinkgeek.com) ?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision will stand behind all of its support commitments.

Also could you also tell us if you would allow other to use your tech in their products for a fee?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision is now in the enabling technology business. We are exploring many different options as a company with regards to supplying integrated components and supplying our Intellectual Property to key partners.

Also what other products do you make?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision is no longer a retail company. In the summer of 2005 we stopped retail operations in order to focus on enabling our new RF technologies in the mobile handset market place. ParkerVision's technology offers both a transmit and receiver options. I would love to discuss our solutions and their capabilities with you more fully and our current target goals for this market.

Would you still be able to provide us with a review sample of the wireless access point and usb adaptors?
[Hansen, Eric] At this time, ParkerVision is not producing or providing samples of its Signal Max product line.

Did you get rid of all your wireless products?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision no longer produces retail wireless products of any kind.

How will this affect warranty claims etc on your products that were sold already?
[Hansen, Eric] ParkerVision values all of its customers that have purchased a Signal Max product. The company will continue to support those customers and affect warranty claims just as we have always done throughout the established warranty period.

For more information on the company .

This is a sad thing as this is one of the companies that I know of if not only company that made a unit with this range (1 mile) for a wireless 802.11B for the consumer market even though 802.11G is the new standard in the works and another one is also comming around in the next year or so.

You can not blame them though as they had to go where they saw another area to exploit and turn a buck at cause in the end thats what keeps your company running.

This is something Amiga still has issues with and was the down fall of Commodore.

We thank Parkervision for doing this interview with us and hope they are around for a long time and that maybe they will make another product like this at a later time.

Mean while the units are still on sale at Computer Geeks.com

The link above is a direct link to the unit for sale.
